The diplomatic car that ran over 20 people in cairo (28th-Jan-2011)
CAREFUL, this video is disturbing but you need to see what’s being done to the people in Egypt.
I was sent this video by a friend, who contacted me today to tell me he was in Cairo, yesterday in Tahrir.
It just makes me go cold. The worrying sign of the last two days is that while I think Mubarak may well leave, he is trying to cause as much chaos as possible, such as releasing prisoners and arming them (in the same way Saddam did). He may simply be hanging on for as long as it takes to loot the entire fortune he has stolen from the Egyptian people (somewhere around $25 billion when many Egyptians live on less than $2 a day).
My friend was suggesting that only the army can ensure an orderly transfer of power. But this kind of video does show one thing, which is that Mubarak cannot be allowed to simply leave after being given that option in peaceful protests. He has to be held accountable to the law, international if needs be.
